Therapist I am the owner of Life Designs. I am also a creative writer for a new website called http://PSMISSYOU.COM. I am a Licensed Clinical Social
Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in the state of Kentucky. I graduated in 1998 with my Masters
in Clinical Social Work from the University of Louisville, Kent School of Social Work. I was in the Marriage and Family Program
and graduate with an emphasis in Children and Families. I graduated in 1992 with my Bachelors in Psychology from the U of
L. I received my CADC in 1995, CSW in 1998, and LCSW in 2001. My counseling career began in 1992 at our local community mental
health agency. I worked years in the residential and intensive out-patient chemical dependency programs where I co-developed
the agency's first program for women. I have worked over 8 years as an out-patient therapist specializing in the treatment
of women and girls. I am a member of National Association of Drug and Alcohol Counslors (NADAAC), Kentucky Association of
Addiction Professionals (KAAP), Association of Play Therapy (APT), National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and The
Kentucky Counsil on Problem Gambling (KYCPG). I served on the board of directors for SpringHaven, Inc, from 1998-2004.

Committed
Couple's Group This group is for heterosexual couples
who are committed to improve their relationship. This group is twice monthly on Saturdays for 4 months. Members
can start at any time after they have been admitted to the group by Betty. Group members will learn and practice skills
each group. They will be given homework to complete between each group. Will be expected to participate each group.
You must be committed to attending every group. There is a charge for each partner. This can either be covered
by insurance or sliding fee scale. The cost per person for the two hour group is from $30.00-$60.00. There
are strict rules and requirements for the group. Topic include: Healthy relationships, Communication, Family Systems
and Subsystems, How to identify and stop sabotaging behavior, Relationships, Assertiveness. We work to break the cycle
of unhealthy relationship patterns of communcation and interaction. For more information contact the office.

Women's
Group IV This group is for women who have mood
and anxiety problems along with chronic personality conflicts. This group will include a psychodynamic format (specific
rules of interaction and strict confidentiality), require a strong commitment from it members. It will include
psychoeducation on DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) skills with group practice. Members and expect to improve
their level of functioning in life and improvement in psychiatric symptoms. This group is inactive. All members
must be a client of Betty Heck or another LD therapist. Please call for more information.

Women's
Empowerment Groups I & II This group is for
women who have problems with anxiety and or depression and want to improve their relationships. This group meets the
first and third Tuesday of each month. Times are 5:00pm-6:30pm and 6:30pm to 8:00pm. There are strict rules of
committment, attendance and confidentiality. We go by first names only. Members can expect to gain a sense of
personal power, become a better communicator, and improve their symptoms of anxiety and depression. Each member
must have worked with Betty Heck on an individual basis to start the empowerment process before admission to group. We work
to break the cycle of unhealthy relationship patterns of communication and interaction.

Women's
PTSD & Panic Group (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder) This group meets weekly for 12 weeks. It is a therapy
group that provides confidential support no matter what your trauma has been. It also provides education about the disorder,
biophysiology, treatments, coping skills, and much more. This is covered by most insurances. The group is co-led
by Sarah Granberg, LCSW, BC-MT. We work along with and out of The PTSD Workbook.

Women's Betrayal, Separation, and Divorce Group (Group III) meets the second and fourth Tuesday
of each month from 6:30pm-8:00pm. This group is for women who have been betrayed in a relationship, are currently seperated,
or are divorcing or recovering from any one of these. The group's main focus is increasing intimacy, and the resolution and
healing of relationships.

Female Adolescent Group Therapy) The group is for adolescent females from the age of 12-18. This treatment is for girls who
have two or more of the following: mood swings, self injure, has an unstable sense of self, depression, anxiety,
thoughts of suicide, intense relationship problems, substance abuse, impulsive behavior, problematic behavior... The group is weekly for one hour and takes a big committment from the girl and
her caregiver(s). The group is covered by many insurances or
we have a sliding fee scale for those who do not have insurance. The cost is from 30.00-50.00 per 1 hour session
based on household income.

Chronic Pain Management Group: This group is for persons who
deal with chronic pain, whether it is spinal pain, neuropathy, fibromyalgia, or chronic headaches. The purpose of the
group is to bring people together who are in the same boat to give and receive support, coping skills, and hope. Members
will be taught how to change thought patterns to lessen the pain, mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, health and lifestyle
changes that improve and give a sense of wellbeing. The bottom line the group will help you minimize pain and the impact
it has on your life. This group will meet once monthly.

HEALTHY LIFESYLES GROUP: This is new group that
will be starting in April 2009. It is for persons who want to get healthier, improve their lifestyle, gain happiness,
improve self image and self esteem, improve life satisfaction, and feel empowered. The group will be focused on
improving food choices, adding movement to their life, changing their thoughts from negative, self defeating ones, to positive
empowering thoughts. The change in thoughts can lead to a whole new outlook on life. This group will be a safe
place to be you without any embarassment. There are very specific rules of committment to group to include; going by
first names only, complete confidentiality, no outside contact by group members. It will meet twice monthly on Monday
afternoons.
